San Antonio’s downtown traffic could get messy. Here's when

Thousands are expected to descend on downtown for a popular annual event. The Day of the Dead River Parade in San Antonio is set to take place on Friday, October 23, and is expected to cause heavy traffic and limited parking due to the event. With reserved seats sold out, downtown traffic is expected. The parade will be one of the largest events around Día de los Muertos, marking the highest sales in the parade's history. The City of San Antonio has not announced any road closures due to this event. Tickets for this year's event increased by 19% from last year's 12,807 tickets. As of Wednesday, October 21, all premium reserved seats were sold out. The estimated total attendance of 35,100 is expected for 2025.
