Blue Ridge Ranch residents demand speed bumps after series of crashes on Southeast Side
Neighbors in a Southeast neighborhood say speeding drivers keep putting lives at risk, and they want the city to do something about it. Residents in the Blue Ridge Ranch neighborhood in San Antonio are calling for speed bumps after a series of crashes that have left lives at risk. The residents have watched car after car veers off the road, and they believe the problem is increasing. One incident occurred early in the morning on Oct. 10, where the driver was conscious but injured. The Public Works Department has allocated $150,000 for traffic calming efforts in the area, including curve warning signs, and the work is expected to be completed by spring 2027. Public Works acknowledges road safety is a shared responsibility and encourages drivers to remain alert, obey posted speed limits and avoid distractions.
