Pearl developer eyes a new Texas riverfront destination

The plans include a boutique hotel, potential rooftop bar and riverfront public spaces. The developer behind San Antonio's Pearl is planning to transform a historic New Braunfels mill into a mixed-use riverfront destination, with an opening set for 2030. The property, which sits along the Comal River near downtown New Braun fels and the San Antonio Street bridge, is expected to include restaurants, shops, bars, offices, and a hotel surrounded by courtyards, plazas, and parks. The historic mill building could become a boutique hotel, while the site's iconic grain silos are being considered for a rooftop bar. Oxbox Development Group's renderings and documents suggest Silo Square, a public gathering space where movies could be projected onto the silos. The project is expected for construction in 2028 and an opening in 2030.
