The family of a missing Texas father are calling on the public to help find him after he disappeared from his home early in the morning, leaving behind his phone and wallet. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office posted a missing persons flyer to Facebook for Colby Richards, 31, who vanished from his home in Spring, north of Houston, around 5 a.m. on May 26.

Colby's wife told the MCSO that Richards woke up around 5 a.m. as he usually did for work but never returned to the bedroom to get ready, Fox News reports. The wife noticed that the backyard gate was open but Richards was nowhere to be found. His wife reported him missing on May 26 and MCSO deployed search teams. They only found Richards' water bottle on a trail behind their home.

Richards, a father of two, works at an engineering firm, his cousin Allison Fox told Fox News. She said coworkers noticed that Richards would zone out at his computer. "I talked to a couple of his friends, and I talked to his supervisor, and they basically said he seemed tired," the cousin told Fox News. "Granted, he's got small kids at home. Sleep is usually pretty precious when you have little ones at home. That's probably all it was."
