Over two dozen Texas water towers were considered for the 2026 Tank of the Year contest. The contest, started by painting and coating company Tnemec 20 years ago, aims to show how their products are being used across North America. Each year, the public votes on a people's choice tank, and Tnemanec chooses 11 other finalists before choosing an official tank. This year saw 26 entries from across the state, with some being more recent than others, and others using their tank as a way to communicate a message about water conservation.
