Halloween shoppers expected to spend record $13.5 billion

A national survey predicts that 2026 will break records. The National Retail Federation's (NRF) annual Halloween survey predicts that 2026 will be a record-breaking year for Halloween spending, with consumer spending expected to reach an all-time high of $13.5 billion, surpassing last year's record $13.,1 billion. The survey also revealed that consumers are expected to spend an average of $115.14 per person and 74% of those surveyed said they plan to celebrate this Halloween. Customers at a Houston-area costume store, Danny's Trix & Kix, expressed their appreciation for the store's extensive selection of costumes and makeup products. The NRF's vice president of industry and consumer insights, Allison Zeller, said about half of all Halloween shoppers got an early start.
