No Tricks, Just Treats for Pups at Animal Care Services
Community invited to carve, stuff and share seasonal goodies with shelter pets. The San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) is hosting a special “Pup-O-Lantern” enrichment event for shelter dogs on October 24. From 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., participants will be able to transform colorful bell peppers into seasonal carved creations filled with dog-friendly goodies. These edible Halloween treats are also a fun form of enrichment that encourages natural behaviors and provides mental stimulation for dogs waiting for their forever families. Participants will also receive waived adoption fees. While supplies are limited, guests are encouraged to bring bell peppers and to donate canned pumpkin or whipped cream. Additional donations will be used throughout the fall.
