Cold fronts sweeping Texas this weekend threaten storms
Forecasters are also watching a strong burst of cold air over Halloween weekend. A cold front is set to sweep across Texas, dropping temperatures from Dalhart to San Antonio as fall progresses. This comes with a potential for stormy weather, with afternoon highs expected to drop by roughly 15 degrees and evening temperatures in the Texas Panhandle expected to sink into the low-40s. However, a low-level risk of flooding looms over the region as storm clouds roll in. Cities in the northwestern quadrant of the Panhandle have a 40% chance of receiving 2 inches of rain or more between Friday and Sunday. Further south, San Antonio, forecasters predict cooler air blowing in on Sunday, October 25. However another cold front could arrive late next week.
