OVERNIGHT ROAD CLOSURES: Multiple closures planned near Loop 410 and I-35 interchange
Drivers along Interstate 35 on San Antonio’s Northeast Side should plan for overnight closures and detours next week as construction continues on the I-35 Northeast Expansion Program.The Texas Department of The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is planning multiple overnight closures on Interstate 35 near Loop 410 and I-35 interchange in San Antonio's Northeast Side as construction continues on the I-350 Northeast Expansion Program. The closures are scheduled for Oct. 26-30, 2026, weather permitting. Most closures are expected from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., 11 p. m. to 7 a. m., Monday through Thursday, and some periodically during these hours. The northbound I-45 frontage road between Space Center Drive and Rittiman Road will be closed nightly during the scheduled hours, along with the northbound frontage Road north of Rittim Road and northbound Interstate 35 Exit 164 B. The southbound I/35 frontage roads south of Walzem Road, southbound Exit 164, and the northward-to-southbound I.35 U-turn at Walzm Road are also expected to occur periodically during those closures. Additional construction closures are planned for bridge construction.
