SAWS’ pipe replacement project to affect flow of traffic, water along Hildebrand Road
SAWS is starting a major project Monday that will affect traffic and water service. The San Antonio Water System (SAWS) is beginning a pipe replacement project that will affect traffic and water along Hildebrand Road, a busy intersection north of downtown. Beginning at 3 a.m. Monday, the area will be completely shut down. The project aims to remove and replace ancient underground pipes, which are 100 years old and break at bad times. The stretch will see various street closures through December, and another phase of the project will cover Hildebr between 2027 and March. During the job, there will also be periodic water outages. The SAWS will be making every effort to minimize the impact on customers and drivers.
