Former Texas Vista employees ousted by hospital's closure take roles across San Antonio, elsewhere
Of the hundreds of workers whose jobs ended in May, Baptist Health hired 325 staff members, 152 of whom are nurses. University Health hired 45 former Texas Vista employees, 17 of whom are nurses. The Pennsylvania health system has eliminated redundant processes and reduced the time and number of people involved in a discharge while boosting patient satisfaction scores. University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics is using technology in the OR to study how surgical procedures are done, with the goal of improving efficiency, reducing workflows, and improving clinical outcomes. The collaborative effort brings together close to a dozen colleges and universities to focus on the use of AI in healthcare diagnostics and treatment.
