San Antonio man sentenced to 30 months for attempting to smuggle guns into Mexico A San Antonio man, Ivan Alexys Oseguera Vara, has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for attempting to smuggle firearms into Mexico. Vara pleaded guilty to smuggling firearms out of the country and faces a $2,100 fine and two years of supervised release. The U.S. authorities found six guns, eight magazines and 59 rounds hidden in Vara's car at the Colombia Solidarity International Bridge.
