A Bexar County jury found him guilty of eight counts of aggravated assault of a public servant, interference with a police service animal and evading arrest and detention. He was also found guilty of killing a police dog named Chucky.

After a six-day trial, a Bexar County jury in December found Mireles, 42, guilty of eight counts of aggravated assault of a public servant, interference with a police service animal and evading arrest and detention.
